1. Start from an idea with a clear benefit
Every carousel should answer a question or promise a benefit: a useful tip, a before-and-after, a mini-guide, a price list. If you can't sum up the carousel's value in one sentence, it's probably not ready yet.
2. Nail the first slide: it's the hook
The first slide decides whether someone stops or scrolls past. It needs to spark curiosity, promise a benefit, or ask a question. Examples: "3 mistakes that are costing you customers", "The colour that takes years off your face". Big, readable text, one single message.
3. One idea per slide
- Slide 1 — the hook: grabs attention.
- Slides 2-6 — the build: one concept per slide, with short copy.
- Last slide — the call to action: "book now", "DM us", "save this post".
4. How many slides?
Instagram allows up to 20 slides, but for most businesses the sweet spot is 5 to 10: enough to tell the story, without wearing people out. A dense, useful carousel beats a long, diluted one.
5. Visual consistency and the call to action
Always use the same style — colours, fonts, logo — so your content is recognisable at a glance and builds trust. Close with one single, clear call to action: without an explicit ask, even a widely-seen carousel rarely brings in contacts.
With Carosell, all of this happens automatically: describe your brand once and every carousel comes out already structured, with copy written and graphics kept consistent. You approve, then publish.
